Castaway Cottage is a beautifully updated beach house with a separate apartment, ideally located across the street from the beach and backing up to a scenic canal—perfect for fishing right in your own backyard. Set on a large, shaded tropical lot, this home invites you to relax, unwind, and settle into island life.
Enjoy ocean breezes and the sound of waves from the spacious screened porch, or open the sliders for an airy indoor-outdoor living experience. The backyard canal offers some of the best fishing on Fripp Island, along with easy access for kayaking or boating from the private dock.
The main house (upstairs) features an open floor plan with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living room that opens directly to the screened porch. Two king master suites include sliding glass doors to the porch, and an additional bedroom with two full beds brings the upstairs sleeping capacity to eight.
The separate ground-level apartment offers privacy and flexibility, with an open living and dining area surrounded by windows, a kitchenette, a full bathroom, and a bedroom with two twin beds—ideal for extended family or guests who appreciate their own space.
Beach access #23 is directly across the street and features a ramped boardwalk—no stairs—making beach days easy and accessible.

PETS MUST BE PREAPPROVED. You will be asked to sign a pet agreement and pay a non refundable $150 pet fee for the first pet and $75 for a 2nd pet. An additional $300 will be charged for guests that show up with a dog without approval.
A few notes about the island - We are club members which means that the Club amenity cards are available for purchase. The Fripp Island Club requires amenity cards for you to frequent their amenities. These amenities include golfing, playing tennis, going to the restaurants on Fripp, going to the swimming pools and the fitness room.
Club cards are required to enjoy any of the Fripp Island Resort amenities and they are available for purchase with this property. If you opt to purchase cards, a 12.8% resort fee based on the rental amount before taxes, cleaning and other fees will be charged in addition to the cost of the individual Club cards.
Each guest 13 years or older must carry an amenity card to access the Club's facilities. There are a few places on Fripp Island that you do not need an amenity card. SpringTide Market is at the front of the island that has a large menu at their deli. From breakfast sandwiches to family BBQ meals, there is a lot to choose from. There is also a deli at the Marina that serves sandwiches and salads. The Fripp Ship and Mango stores are fun to go into for your perfect souvenir.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation. Balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. No reservation is confirmed until the Rental Agreement(s) have been accepted and a deposit received.

Cancellation and Refunds
Should you wish to cancel this reservation, notice of cancellation MUST BE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED MORE THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE. We will refund the sums you have paid, less the credit card transaction fee(s), if paid by credit card. If your notice of cancellation is RECEIVED LESS THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE, you will forfeit all sums paid, except your security deposit, unless we are able to re-rent your dates. We do, however, offer Travel Insurance protection.
Charming house right across the street from beach access. Also has a dock in the back that you can fish and crab from. The house was clean, well maintained and had every amenity that we could have asked for. We highly recommend this property and will certainly soon return.
(4.5 stars) The location, layout and amenities were great! It was perfect for our party of 8. The inside was updated giving it a more modern feel and it was nice for each bedroom to have their own bathroom. When we got there the coffee pot was missing and they had a new one delivered within the hour. The only reason for the deduction is that I feel the property and kitchen are a little tired for the price. But a great time overall!
Loved this beach house. Large enough for everyone to gather in the living area without feeling cramped. Screened in porch made it feel ocean front. Being right across the street from the beach access was wonderful. Everyone had their own privacy with huge bedrooms and private baths. I can’t say enough how helpful Heather was during our stay. Easy check in and out. Can’t wait to stay here again.
Awesome location and we loved being able to walk across the street for the beach and fish in the canal from the backyard. I would have done 4 stars instead of 5 because we had some a/c issues that were handled right away and allowed for a cool vacation. The owners were easy to get to and responsive. The only other suggestion would be a little more comfort to the living room furniture. I know it is tough with families with children, but it would have been nice for the two grandmothers especially. We will be back.
